Vetrazin™ Spray-On gives you the power of Vetrazin™in the convenience of a ready-to-use spray formulation.

Developed for Australian conditions, Vetrazin™ Spray-On will give your sheep up to 11 weeks protection against Blowfly (Lucilia cuprina) strike, including organophosphate resistant strains.

The active ingredient in Vetrazin Spray-On™ is cyromazine. This is a powerful insect growth regulator that breaks the fly life cycle before the larvae cause any injury to your animals.

Important Safety Information

IMPORTANT:

  • Before use, please read the product label for complete instructions.
  • Will irritate the eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
  • When using the product wear rubber gloves.
  • Wash hands after use.
  • After treatment, wait until sheep are dry before rehandling.

FOR MILK:

DO NOT USE in sheep which are producing or may in the future produce milk products that may be used for human consumption.


FOR WOOL:

DO NOT USE less than 2 months before shearing or fibre collection..


FOR MEAT:

DO NOT USE less than 7 days before slaughter for human consumption.

DO NOT USE less than 28 days before slaughter for export.

DO NOT DILUTE. DO NOT USE on sheep with less than six weeks wool growth.

Critical Comments

  1. Use only a spray-on applicator gun recommended by Pharmsmart.
  2. Ensure the applicator gun is clean.
  3. Calibrate applicator gun using an accurate volume measure.
  4. Ensure all areas to be protected are treated.
  5. When preventing body strike ensure bands overlap along the midline (Diagram 1).
  6. This product is not ideal for treating existing strikes. Treated larvae may take three to four days to die. Use a product registered as a dressing for existing strikes (e.g. Extinosad™ Aerosol, Extinosad™ Eliminator).
  7. Should not be mixed with any other product.
  8. Should not be applied during gusty or windy weather as spray drift will reduce the period of protection.
  9. Heavy rain following the application of this product could diminish the period of protection.
  10. Vetrazin™ Spray-On is coloured for band identification. This scourable dye will disappear shortly after treatment.

Vetrazin™ Spray-On has been shown to be compatible with many standard spray-on applicators, including those powered by either compressed air or LPG. The guns approved are the NJ Phillips PAM754 and the Genesis V-Grip™, Hi-Flow™ and 30 mL Power Doser™.

A fan spray nozzle must be used to ensure that all areas of the sheep prone to flystrike are protected. After use, wash with warm, soapy water and rinse with clean water.

This product should not be used on open wounds e.g. wounds resulting from marking or mulesing operations.
